A hotel chose communications technology from Avaya and integrated it with their MICROS property management system to manage their IP phones. All phones’ availability is limited until it is automatically assigned to a registering guest. Until the guest leaves, the phone is fully accessible via wifi and shows the guest’s name when they call anyone in the hotel network. It also helps track the guest.

Why have we not seem the same system for smart phones?
