Microsoft Surface Tables to Push Booze
This one caught my eye. No, not because its about drinking booze. But because it involves the use of technology to improve the human element. In the article "Microsoft’s SurfaceWare gets you drunk faster than drinks through a straw", Thomas Ricker talks about how bars can use Microsoft Surface to detect the amount of liquid left in a drink in order to have a wait staff offer a refill in the time before the drink is finished – patrons tend to reorder less when they actually finish the drink. The obvious next step is, why not have the table offer you another round.
